Tomer Maschkowski
Tomer is a passionate chamber musician and was a member of several acclaimed
ensembles such as the Trombone Unit Hannover, with whom he performed until 2020, and the International Trombone Ensemble. He often appears with the brass ensembles of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Lucerne Festival. Since 2025, he is a member of the Berlin Trombone Quartet, a new ensemble formed with three close colleagues—principal trombonists of leading Berlin orchestras—uniting their unique musical voices in a dynamic and expressive collaboration.
Beyond the concert stage, Tomer has explored interdisciplinary performance through his collaboration with choreographer Oren Lazovski in the multimedia piece “NO-MAD,” which premiered at Berlin’s Radialsystem in 2016. In his latest creative project, “Sliding thru the Opera,” he performs alongside trombonist Lars Karlin and pianist Ohad Ben-Ari, presenting operatic repertoire reimagined for trombone and piano. The program premiered at the Berlin Philharmonie in 2019 and continues to receive enthusiastic acclaim.
In addition to performing, Tomer is a dedicated educator. He teaches at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, and gives masterclasses regularly around the world, sharing his experience and passion with the next generation of trombonists.
