Young Musicians for Holocaust survivors and the elderly
Help us hold online concerts for the benefit of the elderly and Holocaust survivors. Elderly people and Holocaust survivors sometimes face a lack of social connections, of social activities and an inflictingongoing loneliness. The Corona period intensified and exacerbated loneliness more than ever.
The Jerusalem Music Center in collaboration with the Jerusalem Foundation strives to meet this need and broadcast online talk concerts for the elderly and Holocaust survivors with the participation of members of the David Goldman Program for Outstanding Young Musicians of the JMC.
The concerts are broadcasted live in the Jerusalem Music Center’s website and will be accompanied by explanatory notes on the works, the historical background for their writing and anecdotes from the composers’ lives. We will also have a personal and informal conversation with the young artists who will open a door to their world and tell us about their connection to works, their friendships and the healing power of music.
