Huberman trio

The adaptation of symphonies for home ensembles was common in the 19th century and was often done by the composers themselves. Such is Beethoven’s Second Symphony – which he adapted for a piano trio . The chamber view of the symphony is particularly exciting; it is seen, as it were, through its skeleton, and the ear sees through it the energies spreading to the imaginary dimensions implied by it.
