Dorothea Röschmann and Anna Keiserman

Renowned soprano Dorothea Röschmann will sing together with pianist Anna Keiserman some of the pinnacles of Richard Strauss’s lied composition – the last of the German lied composers. Strauss’s lieder embody a rare relationship to the human voice, and especially to the soprano. In his writing, the voice is the source of the music, not its performer; Strauss seems to listen to the voice as he dictates the melodic interpretation of the song.
