The Jerusalem Music Centre family mourns the untimely passing of Yehonatan Berick.
Yehonatan was an outstanding violinist, a remarkable and bright person with a sense of humor and a love of humanity.
We are deeply saddened that we will no longer be able to hear him play the violin, teach or share his company.
Over the years, Yehonatan was a source of pride for all who work to nurture outstanding young musicians at the JMC.
Yehonatan was a violinist with an international career, who performed and touched so many with his soulful and sensitive playing, as a soloist, as a member of the Huberman Quartet and other chamber groups.
On a personal note, when my parents bought me a 3/4 violin at the age of 12 from the Berick family, we went to Yehonatan’s parents home and he played so beautifully that I immediately told my parents - I want the violin. For me as a child, the personal meeting with such a bright personality and such a special
violinist was deeply meaningful to my following journey as a young musician.
We join the family in their grief for such a great loss,
We love you Yehonatan.
