Such is Beethoven&#8217;s Second Symphony \u2013 which he adapted for a piano trio . The chamber view of the symphony is particularly exciting; it is seen, as it were, through its skeleton, and the ear sees through it the energies spreading to the imaginary dimensions implied by it.
